The EOW is a network of "observation points" of wildlife in Europe, in which participate all members of the European Union. It aims establish the basis for coordinating the long-term wildlife monitoring systems of medium to big sizes mammals in Europe (Cover photo: Group of fallow deers photographed with a camera trap in the Doñana Biolgical Reserve. The sampling design, estimated variables, data analyses based on reliable and methodologically harmonized methods, is common in all observation points, to meet the scientific needs of integrated monitoring at European level. The Singular Scientific-Technical Infraestructure of Doñana Biological Reserve, ICTS-RBD, participates in the project. Initially, the Observatory it will be focused on terrestrial mammals. Modern density estimation techniques as camera traps, will be used for data collection and analysis. During this week, members of ICTS-RBD monitoring team together with members of the Research Institute of Hunting Resources (IREC) have distributed camera traps in the Doñana Biological Reserve (Photo: members of both, ICTS-RBD and IREC institutions distributing camera traps in the RBD.
