The electric vehicle joins the investigation in Doñana through the EBD-CSIC

Transport vehicles are an important source of pollution and initiatives have recently multiplied to favor the transition towards greater use of electric vehicles. The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), through the Dioñana Biological Station (EBD), has joined efforts to implement the use of electric vehicles and reduce the pollution generated by their vehicles.

Good wintering of waterbirds in the marshes of the Guadalquivir River in January 2019

In the middle of last January, the Natural Processes Monitoring Team (ICTS-RBD) carried out the census of wintering birds in the Guadalquivir Marshes (Doñana Natural Area, adjacent non-protected areas and the Brazo de Este Natural Park).

Reappearance of the blue crab in the marsh of the Doñana National Park

Two years after its first appearance in the marsh of the Doñana National Park, the survey undertaken by the Doñana Monitoring Team (ICTS-RBD-CSIC) confirmed that the blue crab, Callinectes sapidus Rathbun (1896), is present in large numbers in the Brenes and Figuerola channels.

Is restocking a useful tool for increasing rabbit densities?

The Population of European rabbit Oryctolagus cuniculus have declined due to several factors including habitat transformation and viral diseases. At the same time, corrective measures including population restocking in areas with low population densities using rabbits from other geographical areas have been performed. As part of the natural processes monitoring program carried out in the Doñana Biological Station (ESPN-EBD-CSIC), rabbit censuses were conducted

Erradication of invasive plants from RBD-ICTS.

In March, volunteers from Adena / WWF have offered us their invaluable help to eliminate the invasive plant Oxalis pes-caprae, native from South Africa, from several sites of the Biological Reserve of Doñana (RBD-ICTS). This plant is included in the Spanish catalog of invasive species

Start a project

If you plan to do research in Doñana, you must bear in mind that your project must be approved by the Research Access Commission of the Doñana Participation Council. The ICTS-RBD provides assistance throughout the procedure. Read more

Request access, accommodation and/or technical and logistic support

Once your research project has been approved by ICTS-RBD, you can request access and accomodation in the Biological Reserve using this online form and/or logistic or technical support using this online form . Do not forget to read carefully the facilities’ use rules. Read more

Request biodiversity data

Raw data requests are made via the following application . In addition, it is possible to visualize ICTS-RBD biodiversity monitoring data at the Data Infrastructure and access essential ecosystem indicators at the Global Change Observatory

Bird Ringing Lab

The Bird Ringing Lab is a service of ICTS-RBD that centralizes all scientific ringing activities undertaken in Doñana, and coordinates non-metallic bird banding in Spain. Read More
