A dead white stork (Ciconia ciconia) founded in Doñana because of the intake of plastics.

At the end of June of this year 2019, a specimen of white stork (Ciconia ciconia) appeared dead in Marisma de Hinojos, inside the Doñana National Park. This data would not have more significance if it were not for the fact that he had in the digestive system a huge amount of plastic strips, which was the probable cause of his death.

First successful reproduction of the common tern (Sterna hirundo) in the Natural Area of Doñana after more than 30 years.

In this breeding season 2019 the Natural Process Monitoring Team has verified the successful reproduction of the common tern (Sterna hirundo) in the Doñana Natural Space Sector belonging to Cádiz, where its presence was already detected in the two previous reproductive periods.

Observation of a specimen of Cream-coloured courser (Cursorius cursor) in Doñana.

In mid-June 2019, the Natural Process Monitoring Team observed in the Doñana Natural Area, specifically in Marisma de Hinojos, a specimen of Cream-coloured courser (Cursorius cursor). This wader is distributed in North Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, where it lives in desert and sub-desert environments.

The electric vehicle joins the investigation in Doñana through the EBD-CSIC

Transport vehicles are an important source of pollution and initiatives have recently multiplied to favor the transition towards greater use of electric vehicles. The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), through the Dioñana Biological Station (EBD), has joined efforts to implement the use of electric vehicles and reduce the pollution generated by their vehicles.
