Doñana’s Singular Scientific-Technical Infrastructure (ICTS-RBD) provides access and support to carry out research at the Doñana Protected Areas.

For such purpose, it provides researchers with accomodation, various facilities and technical/logistical support. It also runs monitoring programs to assess the status and trends of biodiversity, provides online access to all the information gathered by these monitoring programs and delivers ICT service management and tools to facilitate the search and use of that information.

Doñana Biological Station (EBD) will improve energy efficiency and the e-labs of the ICTS-Doñana Biological Reserve (RBD)

Doñana Biological Station, belonging to Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), will improve energy efficiency and the e-labs of the ICTS-Doñana Biological Reserve (RBD) with European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) co-financing

Infraestructura TIC en RBD

On November 21, 2017 the Committee for Monitoring the Arrangement signed on October 3, 2017 by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness and the State Agency "Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)" was established for the implementation of EEyELabs project "Improvement of the energetic efficiency and e-labs of the ICTS-RBD, Doñana Biological Reserve".

The two actions that will be carried out - with European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) co-financing - are aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the RBD, which includes reorganization of the infrastructures dedicated to the ICTS users and the inclusion of some equipment that will reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, as well as the reinforcement of the sensor network and e-labs. Thus, the deployment of the automatic sensors network at the RBD will be complete and will improve the information and communication technologies (ICT) infrastructures, incorporating new training tools for the analysis of genomic data applied to diversity.

The project budget is € 1,419,882, 80% of which are co-financed with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) corresponding to the Operational Programme "Smart Growth" 2014-2020, assigned to the General Secretariat of Science and Innovation, for financing projects and actions related to infrastructures included in the current Map of Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructures (ICTS, by its initials in Spanish). This project expires at the end of 2019.

Start a project

If you plan to do research in Doñana, you must bear in mind that your project must be approved by the Research Access Commission of the Doñana Participation Council. The ICTS-RBD provides assistance throughout the procedure. Read more

Request access, accommodation and/or technical and logistic support

Once your research project has been approved by ICTS-RBD, you can request access and accomodation in the Biological Reserve using this online form and/or logistic or technical support using this online form . Do not forget to read carefully the facilities’ use rules. Read more

Request biodiversity data

You can visualize ICTS-RBD’s biodiversity monitoring data at the Data Infrastructure and consult essential ecosystem indicators derived from them at the Global Change Observatory. Raw data are offered free of charge to competitive research projects, subject to the following terms and conditions of use included in this data-request form.

Bird Ringing Lab

The Bird Ringing Lab is a service of ICTS-RBD that centralizes all scientific ringing activities undertaken in Doñana, and coordinates non-metallic bird banding in Spain. Read More
